Monarch Project

Next week we will be starting our Life Stages of the Monarch Butterfly Project.

We previously learned about herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. What category does the Monarch butterfly fall into and why?

Debate on African Elephants

Species have become extinct over time. Presently, the African Elephant faces extinction due to illegal trafficing of ivory in which there is poaching. Apparently, their tusks are worth a lot of money in China. Should we intervene?

Explain what poaching is.

Explain why the ivory is valuable in China.

Explain the value of the African Elephant species and why they deserve preserving.

Suggest how they can be saved.

We are all aware of how important oil is to us and the how BP has made repeatedly frustrating attempts to stop the undersea oil leak. The amount of oil available on this planet is finite. Do you believe that we should be drilling for undersea oil reserves? Support your answer.
